Rafa Matos

2009 IndyCar Rookie of the Year

Perhaps no one lives life at a faster pace than IndyCar champion Raphael "Rafa" Matos. The Brazilian native began winning championships almost as soon as he began racing. By 2002, he was in the U.S., winning Rookie of the Year honors in the Skip Barber Race Series and setting his sights on bigger things. Now, nearly eight years later, Rafa is the 2009 IndyCar Rookie of the Year. He has never gone more than two years without winning a title, and with four series titles from other classifications under his belt and one year of experience to draw from, chances are you'll be seeing a lot of this racer in the very near future. Both Rafa and his Luczo Dragon Racing pit crew include FRS as a staple in their workout program and race day regimen.
